Bringing Outside Inside
Textile Collection
Loughborough, England

During my time as an exchange student at Loughborough University in England, I created a collection of textile designs designed for interiors. These designs are based on patterns found in nature that reminded me of lace. I used these patterns to bring the outside world into indoor spaces.

Lace is something that was used in the past to decorate and represent wealth indoors. I was constantly walking outdoors while in England, looking for patterns and recording them in my sketchbook. These patterns that I found bring value to the ecosystems they inhabit. I brought them inside to draw attention to that value that we so often overlook.
