this painting was made following a backpacking trip to the wallowas in eastern oregon. the movement of the snow and pink algae really inspired the piece in combination with the rocky landscape. i worked from several sketches that i had made in the field and brought this large piece to life in my studio. this piece especially brought out a side of my work that is more meditative, each line learning from the last to create a larger pattern.
